Welcome To Uganda Safaris Blog

Uganda as a CNN advert once run is a land truely "Gifted by nature".  It has awed many great men, one such person is Sir Winston Churchill who described this beautiful country as "the Pearl of Africa" after having toured the country during the colonial era.

This country is teeming with wildlife with over 10 protected areas in a country the size of Great Britain. Some of the wildlife endemics are the endangered mountain gorillas found in the rain forest regions of the border of Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Uganda these rare gentle giants are found in Bwindi impenetrable forest and Mgahinga national park. These offer tourists the chance to do gorilla tracking tours, a major tour attraction for those visiting the African continent.
Here we will discuss the different aspects affecting the tourism industry in Uganda and the East African region at large.

Wildlife Safaris In Uganda

Africa has the greatest number of wildlife species, this is especially in the Great rift valley region of the East African countries of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Uganda offers a great opportunity to do wildlife tours such as in its 10 different national parks. Some of the wildlife adventure tours include; mountain gorilla trekking, birding tours and game drives

Birding In Uganda

In a country the size of great Britain, Uganda has such a large number of bird species with over 50 percent of Africa's bird species. There are over 1001 bird species in this tiny country some of which are endemic to the region. These are mainly in the Albertine region which stretches from the north of Lake Albert to Rwanda and Tanzania. However, it is important to note that birding tours can be done all over the country as its different vegetation allows for different species of birds to find habitats.
