Mountain Gorillas

Once enlisted as critically endangered, mountain gorillas are slowly increasing in number in the wild due to the conservation efforts of many international and local organizations. The population of mountain gorillas has increased to about 750 in the wild in the rain forest regions of the borders of Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The plight of these gentle giants has been brought to light as well by the many international tour operators in the region.
